Who we are
PakBill is an independent utility-bill tracking app operated by MadXpert ("we", "us"). Contact: support@pakbill.app.
What we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored as a salted bcrypt hash — we can never read it). Phone number and city are optional.
- Utility account references: the bill reference / consumer numbers you choose to add, with optional nicknames.
- Bill data: bill details (amount, due date, consumption, history) fetched from each utility provider's public bill portal for the reference numbers you add.
- Bill images: if you use bill capture/share, a screenshot of your bill is stored so you can view and share it.
- Push token: a device token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send bill reminders you enable.
What we never collect
- No utility-portal passwords or OTPs — the portals we read are public and need none.
- No bank, card, wallet, or any payment credentials. Payments happen entirely outside PakBill.
- No contacts, photos, location, or advertising identifiers.
How we use data
- To fetch and display your bills, send due-date reminders and new-bill alerts you control in Settings.
- To show your consumption history and analytics inside the app.
- We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing.
Where data comes from
Bill information is retrieved from each provider's official public bill-view portal (e.g. bill.pitc.com.pk, sngpl.com.pk, ptcl.com.pk, WASA/KWSB portals). We display it for convenience and do not claim ownership of it. Always verify final amounts on the official portal before paying.
Storage & security
- Data is stored on our servers with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS everywhere).
- Passwords are hashed with bcrypt; sessions use short-lived signed tokens with rotating refresh tokens.
- Bill screenshots are stored under unguessable URLs and replaced on every new capture.
Data retention & deletion
Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete individual utility accounts in the app at any time (Profile → Manage Accounts). To delete your entire account and all associated data, see Delete Account — deletion is completed within 30 days.
Children
PakBill is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Third-party services
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — push notification delivery.
- Utility providers' public portals — bill data source (their own terms apply on their sites).
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page with an updated date.
